Highlights:
The way from Yunnan to Tibet is always regarded as the best line road to travel. Starting from ancient town and getting through continuous Meili Snow Mountains, travelers can enter Tibetan area. There is a vast plain between Mangkang and Zuogong. Beginning from Ranwu, the landscape is majestic and beautiful. Some views in Nyingtri like in Switerland, which is very proper for overland travel. "Dian-Zang" Overland route is regarded as the fantastic visit.

Day by Day Itinerary:
Day01: Kunming- Lijiang(500km, alsphalt road, 7hours driving)  Overnight at Lijiang 3 star hotel
There is almost 317km from Kunming to Dali with whole expressway. It will take four hours to get there.

Dali ancient town is regarded as the combination of Chinese and Western cultures. Travelers can not only visit the ancient town with thousands of years of history but also meet many foreign travelers. The road condition from Dali to lijiang is usual. It is narrow and winding with 179km of the whole distance. It will take three hours to get the destination. Once entering the Lijiang area, travelers can see the Jade Dragon snow mountain.

It is very convenient to lodge and have meal in Lijiang. It is said that only living in the ancient town, people can find their ideal landscape of Lijiang. At night travelers can go to the local bars and enjoy the different culture there.

Day02: Lijiang- Zhongdian(200km, alsphalt road, 4 hours driving) Overnight at Zhongdian stander room
The road condition from Lijiang to Zhongdian is the exclusively secondary bus way. The distance between them is 200km with nearly upward piedmont, which tests out drivers' patience mostly.

Lijiang out of Naxi nationality will let you feel the Tibetan atmosphere. Getting though the precipitous Tiger Jumping scenic spot, travelers can see the biggest Tibetan Buddhism temple in Yunnan province-- Songzanlin temple. After going out of Zhongdian county, travelers can overlook the halo of the golden summit of the temple .In the middle of the mountain, there is the name of the temple with Chinese characters. Along the road, there are many accommodations for food, lodging and fuel.

Day03: Zhongdian- Deqing(160km, good condition road, 3 hours driving) Overnight at Deqing dorm bed
Passing Napa plain, spanning the Jinsha River, getting though Tea-horse ancient road and climbing the snow mountain, travelers can overlook Deqing County. The whole distance is 152km.
 
The Feilai Monastery is the best place to enjoy the panorama of Meili Snow Mountain which belongs to the middle of Nushan Mountains. The three world famous rivers-Jinsha, lancang and nujiang-flow below the beautiful mountains of north-west Yunnan province. There are thirteen continuous peaks with the altitude of 6000m here, which are called Prince Thirteen Peaks.

There is 5km distance from Deqing to Feilai Monastery. Lots of restaurants and hotels can be found in Feilai temple scenic spot.
              
Day04: Deqing- Mangkang(125km, good condition road, 4hours driving, 3780m) Overnight at Mangkang stander room
Starting out in the morning and hiking on the path at the top of the mountain which is opposite to Meili Snow Mountain, travelers can get to Yanjing after walking 120km. Yanjing is the main way of the communication between Tibet and main china . Tea-horse way is the first stop in Tibet. Even though Yanjing has belonged to Tibet, the frontier mark is several kilometers far from here. The road condition before getting Mandkang is not bad. The Lancang River flows along the road, adding to the excitement. Climbing over the entrance of Hongla Mountain, travelers enter the protection area of the golden monkeys. After going down the mountain and walking along the Mangkang river, travelers can get to Mangkang county which is the first county after entering the Tibetan area. The altitude here is 3780meters. Jinsha River, Lancang River and Nujiang River form a particular view here. We have called it ¡®Two Cliffs Hold Three Rivers¡¯. There is a way to Batang, Sichuan province in west Mangkang. This place must be called the throat of Tibet. It is very convenient to lodge and have dinner here.

Day05: Mangkang- Zuogong- Basu( 340m, very rough road climbing high moutains, 8hours driving, 5008m-3910m) Overnight at Basu standroom
The whole distance is 340km. After entering Mangkang, you will traverse over many beautiful mountains and rivers.

After passing bangda,you will cross over the breathtaking Nujiang mountain pass. You must trek over lots of mountains and span many rivers. Going down from Lawu Mountain and getting to the Zhukabin station near Lancang River, then you  climb to the pass of Dongda Mountain. This is the highest mountain pass in the Chuan-Zang road with the altitude of 5008meters. Overlooking from here, you can find the Chuan-Zang road and Lancang River are like two brilliant ribbons which are glistering in the ravines.

After passing Bangda, the first thing is to climb over the most precipitously traverse mountain -Nujiang Mountain.
Finishing the famous Seventy-two Bends and going down to the Nujiang riverside. Basu means "the village below Warrior Mountain" in Tibetan language. Its altitude is 3910meters. It is convenient to add oil for the car and have dinners.

Day06: Basu- Rawok- Bomi(200km, good road, 4hours driving, 3850m) Overnight at Bomi standroom
The whole distance is 200km.  That is not exaggerated to use ¡®paradise¡¯ to describe. The scenic spot comes from the time of starting out. Snow Mountains, primary forests and lyrical landscape combine together, which makes you have a special feeling that you never had before.
 
Rawok locates here with the altitude of 3850meters. The surface of the lake reflects the snow mountain¡¯s image. The ecological environment has been protected well from Ranwu to Bomi. Travelers can enjoy the beautiful journey. Bomi town¡¯s architectures are from Han nationality. People¡¯s life here is comfortable. It is convenient to lodge and have dinners.

Day07: Bomi- Tongmai- Niyingtri(233km, part of rough road, 6 hours driving, 4702m-2400m) Overnight at Baiyi Town standroom
The whole distance is 233km. the views are picturesque. If the weather is good, the Nankabawa Peak which is 7787m high can be seen. It is the holy mountain in Linzhi area. Beginning from Zhaxi town, travelers have to get though the forest all the time until the next destination. Tongmai Natural Barrier begins Tongmai and ends Dongjiu. It is the most difficult road in Dian-Zang way. The whole distance is 24km. however, wilderness lovers can feel the excitement here.

After the Natural Barrier, the road becomes better gradually. The area that is close to Lulang shows another view. The forests are so dense that you even can¡¯t see the sky. Birds¡¯ singing and flowers¡¯ aroma can also give you a fresh feeling. Standing at the top of Selaji Mountain which has the altitude of 4702meters, you can see the Nankabawa Peak. Going down from Sejila Mountain, you can get to Linzhi county. If you go on driving 19km away, you can arrive the capital of Linzhi¡ªBayi town which locates alongside of Niyang River with the altitude of 2400meters. Because of the good weather compared with other areas, Bayi town is called "Jiangnan in Tibet".
                  
Day08: Bayi Town- Draksumtso- Mozhugongka- Lhasa(500km, alsphalt road with good condition, 8hours diving) Overnight at Lhasa.
Niyang River derives from Mila Mountain. It flows more than 300 km to the east and converges into Yaluzangbu River after a 40km drive from south Bayi town.

If you start out at Ba River which is one of Niyang River and go north, you must arrive at the red sect's holy lake which is called Draksumtso after 40km drive. About 40km of passing Mozhugongka , you can see the mark with writing Gandan Monastery.

The distance is almost 500km; it will be mid-night to get Lhasa.  Since may to October is peak travel season,it is wise to book your rooms in advance in Lhasa.

Day09: Lhasa city tour     Overnight in Lhasa 3 star hotel
Morning time visit Potala Palace. Then visit Jokhang Temple, walk around Barkhor Market.
                                                                                           
Day10: Lhasa city tour     Overnight at Lhasa 3 star hotel
Morning time visit Drepung Monastery. , then afternoon to Sera Monastery.        

Day11: Lhasa- Namtso Lake- Lhasa( 500km, 7 hours driving, asphalt road in good condition, 4178m, 5-15¡ãC)  Overnight at Lhasa 3 star hotel
In the morning around 08:00am, our guide and drive pick you from your hotel, then we leave Lhasa to Namtso Lake. On the way you will see the huge grassland of Naqu and have a chance see the sky road- Qinghai Tibet Railway passing through it look likes a dragon. Then the Nyenchen Thanglha snow mountain ranges in front of you, and also you will pass the Nagela Pass. Then on the way back to Lhasa you have a chance enjoy the Yangpachen hotspring, back to Lhasa.

Depends on how long times you arrive in Lhasa and your body health, suggestion the traveler whol just arrive in Lhasa for few day don¡¯t take the hot spring that maybe you will get the high altitude sickness

Day12: Lhasa airport or train station dropping off.
