It is recorded in the major Bon canon Lubum (hundred Thousand Lu)that the eight Lu(Dragon Gods)occupying the eight main and intermediary quarters of the world are having distinct body color and hair ornament:

Gzi beads are thus among the treasures guarded by the Dragon God of the Southwest. This god has a body of five gem colors and wears a diadem with eight pieces of cat��s eye Gzi)
