Down on Minzu Dadao, the provincial museum offers a peaceful browse through 50,000 years of Guangxi history up to the opium wars. There's a good deal of minority costumes and artifacts, including the world's largest bronze drum collection (not much is actually displayed). To get there, take bus No 6, which runs along Chaoyang Lu from the train station. Opening hours are from 8.30 to 11.30 am and 2.30 to 5.30 pm daily; admission is Y3.
